Outfit of the day | Missguided co-ord

When I was looking for an outfit for the #BloggersBlogAwards I knew I wanted something which would see myself through from a day time event to the evening. Whilst I'm not saying this is typical day time dressing, I simply fell in love with this buckle detail cropped top and cigarette pants co-ord from Missguided and knew I had to have it. Plus the best thing with buying a co-ord outfit is I can mix and match the top and trousers for future looks.

The bloggers awards were held at the gorgeous event space at Lamberts Yard in Leeds. Which as Laura found out, also has the perfect corridor with the best light ever for a cheeky #ootd photo shoot. . I'll be posting about the awards soon so stay tuned.

St Leger Ladies day Doncaster

I'm pretty certain that any girl, if offered the chance to: dress up in her "special occasion dress" dress, drink champagne, hang out with the girlies for a day, indulge in a three course meal and of course have a cheeky little flutter on the horses, wouldn't say no, right?

Well I certainly did not say no, to a day out at Doncaster race course for the St Leger Ladies day, courtesy of Ladbrokes.

The outfits...and of course all the hats!! are seriously on fleek when it comes to ladies day. Skipping past the fact I actually just said "on fleek" it's certainly a day for those of us who love people watching. Everyone looks so flamboyant, I certainly felt a little lost without a hat, although since I got the 3rd chance to wear my favourite blue dress (and not so favourited sucky in pants) I still felt ohh so sophisticated. Plus I may have "borrowed" Lucy's rather brilliant pink hat later on in the day.

Once everyone arrived everyone was treated to a 3 course meal. All the options looked delicious but I settled on the pork belly for starter, tuna for main (the lighter option as i knew I couldn't resist the fried brie for desert), although more conventional options included lemon tart. Which I may also have had a little taste of. Although after all the food, I felt my best pick of the day was the sucky in pants.

After lunch it was time to place your bets! Obviously my method of picking horses is something rather complex. Hours of studying previous races, testing the weather conditions on the day....and obviously picking them all by the best name.

We all watched from the terrace, sipping Pimms and cheering on the horses. Although since I forgot my glasses I had no idea which was my horse..In fact does anyone ever know this when it comes to horse racing? Although as I eagerly waited for the commentator to announce the winners at the end, it proved picking horsed by names must be the best option as I had a nice few wins on the day. It certainly beat my last day at the races, when I had too much Pimms and somehow lost all my betting slips.

Overall the day was fantastic and the weather was defiantly on our side. I would like to say and a huge thank you to Branded3 and Ladbrokes for the invitation.

Wearing | Folk fiesta smock dress

It's been many months since my last outfit post. However summer is coming and I'm starting to find more opportunities to snap myself in the summer sun (or in the blogging world...better light for photos). I've got a few nice outfits planned for my holidays coming up in a few weeks, so I promise I won't leave it as long next time.

This was Saturdays outfit which I wore for a day out in Manchester. I rather like Manchester it's like a bigger Leeds, with many restaurants I've not tried and more shops. Hello Selfridges.

Dress: Sugarhill boutique at House of Fraser*
Well this has to be my new favourite dress purchased in the current House of Fraser Sale. Reduced to a fab £26.00!  The floaty smock dress is perfect for summer days out, with a loose fit to hide the BBQ aftermath. Plus I also think it would be wearable for days out shopping, work and nights out. It's pretty much an all rounder. I love Sugarhill boutique as a brand, the dresses are always amazing quality and very well made. The quirky aztec print on the dress is adorable and quite eye catching.

Socks: Primark (in store)

Shoes: New Look (current season)
I paired my new favourite dress with my new favourite shoes. The blue suede shoes (I hadn't given this much thought to the material, until a guy walking behind me in the train station started singing..put on my blue suede shoes and I boarded a train) are from New Look. The shoes have a strap across the ankle (hidden by my socks) making them comfortable and easy to walk in. The colour and platform style is also very on trend for a 70s look.

Rings: Primark (in store)

The Christmas Jumper alternative

When I told you my last outfit post look was the most "me" I looked at the post and thought the whole outfit really sums up entirely what I feel most comfortable in wearing from my wardrobe. What I'm going to refere to as comfort clothes.I do kind of think this t-shirt is a typical "me" throw on item, and the fact it's Christmas related is an extra bonus.

Primark Holidays are coming t-shirt

A few weeks ago, I was sat blissfully blogging away paying no attention to anything around me, lost in my own little cyber world, when a noise caught my attention. A sound of twinkling bells coming from the TV, I looked up as I felt a grin forming across my face before I had even had a chance to look at the television, yep there it was the coca-cola truck gliding through my living room. I don't care if the John Lewis advert may cause more of a hype, if Sainsburry's have made us all cry this year, for me the one advert which will always be a sign of Christmas more than anything else is the coca-cola holidays are coming advert.

So naturally you can imagine my excitement when I found this t-shirt in Primark of all place for the utter bargain of £6.00. I did question back in November when I purchased it if it was a little early for Christmas clothing to be hitting the shops but quite frankly I wasn't prepared for this to sell out.

Ambition Inspired #OOTD | giveaway

A casual outfit look for you all today. I think this is one of those outfits which truly shows the kinds of things I actually wear most days...well when I'm not at work anyways. Stretchy disco pants, which I don't care what anyone says in my head they go with everything I own. As you can tell by the now stretchy knees, they get a lot of wear. Maybe I should invest in a new pair aye. Teamed with a jersey t-shirt, trainers and backpack. Now a days I find myself reaching for backpacks more than I ever will a handbag. I've always been more the tom-boy kind of dressers and in school when everyone had there handbags which would just about fit a planner and a pen in (if you remember this bonus points) I choose a backpack from Freespirit (again bonus points if you remember that shop too). Now the history quiz is out the way let's chat about clothes some more..why not eh.

Honour over Gory jersey

The top is a new purchase from Honour Over Glory. This is a brand that seems to take me way back and I've been a huge fan of the brand for years. Despite been a smaller brand they have always been a popular choice for me. I remember seeing them years ago with little stalls set up at festivals and everyone going mad for them. I still have my over the knee American style football sock from them and still love them to this day. It's a clothing brand I will always feel comfortable in and a brand that actually takes me slightly back to my "youth".

Honour over Gory jersey

I know we hear elders discussing comfort over style a hell of a lot and I must admit this is always something I've taken on board. My fashion sense is such a mix match between outfits in which I feel my wardrobe is a dressing up box, dresses and heels for nights out kind of thing and then the other side of me is always trainers, skinny jeans and tshirts. Which I always feel most comfortable in. These trainers have been one of my favorite shoe purchases this year and one of the most worn. Clearly because there practical. Although I'm not sure how this post is comparing against my recent purchase of thigh high boots.

As said backpacks defiantly seem the way forward. My new Beck & Hersey backpack from flash-price is defiantly a new favorite. It came in perfect handy for my recent weekend away in the country and will no doubt become my new work bag. I'm defiantly keeping a close eye on the bargains to come on flash-price who have just launched yesterday, plus the first 1000 people who sign up their newsletter will receive a free HACK tshirt worth £29.99 with no purchase necessary. Plus for the first 500 who purchased a pair of Urban Logik boots will recicve a free backpack, like mine! Bargain aye.

Walking in a winter wonderland

There' something about wearing wellies which I love. The flip flop like sound they make as I take clumsy strides, plodding along in my own little world. The instant cosy looking factor they add to any outfit or the simple fact it almost like a treat getting the opportunity to wear them.  Quite frankly I'm not winning style points here, but in terms of the satisfaction been able to pull on my winter wellies is quite comforting. On my recent trip to Ox Pasture Hall, I took along a whopping 5 pairs of shoes for one night, although in all honesty I felt most at home walking through the country fields in my wolly hat, winter scar and the simplest of all footwear. As darkness fell and the lights from the hotel beamed across the distance lighting up the misty fog of the nights sky was weirdly comforting. It was such the getaway I needed and there's something so simplicit about a peaceful walk which we can all find our own comfort in.

#ootd Rare London White Quilted Shift Dress

Autumn fashion can be a little tricky, once you've picked out a winter coat and some boots to see you through the next few months, styling up the rest of your wardrobe into something practical can be a little tricky.

There's often no need to buy a new wardrobe for autumn when it's pretty easy to style up some more versatile pieces ready for the chillier months.

I love this quilted shift dress* by Rare London, It's perfect for a night out, with some killer heels and can be easily styled up for a more casual look for the autumn months.

With the simple addition of the classic leather jacket, a woolly hat and some thick tights it's pretty simple to transform wardrobe pieces and make them suitable for all occasions.

I'm so in love with this dress, it's the perfect and fitted with a classy look yet versatile for all weather. It's fits nice and the material is thick enough to embrace winter. The dress is a uk size 8 and fit's perfectly if not even a little loose but skims my hips nicely, it's pretty much the perfect fit me.
